The Saint Max Net is dedicated to the life and martyrdom of St. Maximilian Kolbe, SP3RN, a Franciscan priest who gave up his life for a fellow prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1941. St. Max held the callsign SP3RN and is considered the patron saint of amateur radio. The Net was founded by Lloyd, K3QNT and Ted, W1JMJ (SK) in 1998. The Net meets on 7241 kHz on Sundays at 2400Z (8:00 PM EDT) and on 14341 kHz Sundays at 2200Z (6:00 PM EDT). The net also meets on DMR on the TGIF DMR Network Talk Group 3814 on Sundays immediately following the 40 Meter Net. The Net generally begins informal callups about 20 minutes or so prior to the official start of the Net at 2200Z and 2400Z (local Sunday night). Please visit the Saint Max Net website at www.saintmaxnet.org.
